There is a big variety of delicious dishes around the world, but do you know that the favorite food of many people around the world is Mexican food? Mexican food is spicy and tasty; also, it includes a variety of flavors, colors, textures, etc. If you live or travel to Mexico, you can enjoy food like: tacos, enchiladas, mole, pozole, tamales, etc. I love Mexican food, but my favorite dish is pozole.
There are three kinds of pozole, these are white, green, but my favorite is red pozole. I like this kind of pozole, because my grandmother prepares it very delicious. It has an incredible flavor and a delicious smell. Also it is the special dish in my family when we celebrate an important date, this could be a birthday, Christmas, new year, etc, a particular day when they majority of Mexican people eat pozole is on our Independence day.
The correct ingredients are the secret of a savory pozole. The main ingredients of red pozole are maize, garlic, salt, cumin, red pepper, meat and backbone. The cambination of these ingredients is essential in order to obtain a delicious pozole. Pozole can be spicier depending of the kind of the red pepper that you use. Here in Mexico we called “chile guajillo” if you don’t want that pozole is spicy or “chile pulla” if you want it spicier.
Although pozole has a good flavor with all these ingredients, you can add extra-ingredients in order to obtain a better flavor. When you have your pozole in the plate, you can add lettuce, onion, radish, lemon and wild marjoram; moreover, these extra- ingredients give pozole an attractive presentation. But these extra-ingredients are optional, this means you can add them or not. Also you can accompany pozole with tostadas or potato tacos; if you want you can add spicy sauce too.
To sum up, I can eat Chinese food, American food, Italian food, but my favorite food will always be Mexican food. Mexican food has many delicious dishes, but I prefer pozole. You can eat pozole in all the seasons of the year, it is a dish easy to find on the majority of restaurants. Moreover, pozole is the perfect dish for celebrating whichever event.
