FRIEND AND BROTHER
What do you prefer, a friend or a brother? According to Imam Ali (n.d.) “-A man asked Hazrat Ali(A.S.), What is the difference between a friend and a brother?- -Hazrat Ali(A.S.) replied, A brother is like gold, a friend is like a diamond! --The man asked again, What is the difference between gold and diamond?- -Hazrat Ali(A.S.) replied, Gold can break apart and unite back but a diamond cannot!-. Sometimes we have more confidence, attention and love by a friend than a brother; also, we can see this big difference between them when we have problems with our brothers. On the other hand, we can consider our friend as a brother or our brother as our friend, if we see them of this way we cannot find differences between them.
An important difference between a friend and a brother is, you can choose your friend, but you cannot choose a brother. You have the opportunity of choosing as a friend a person with you enjoy spend your time with, to share believes, thoughts, likes and dislikes. You decide where, how and when have a friend. You choose the necessary characteristics that a person should have in order to be your friend. A friend does not live in your house, but he is always by your side. On the contrary, you cannot choose your brother. Who have the decision of where and when have him are your parents. You have the obligation of living with him. The main aspects that you share with him are physical features. Besides your brother lives in your house, sometimes he and you sleep in the same room. You can have a million problems with your brother, but no matter what you do or where you go, he is always in your way.
Another difference is confidence. A friend is someone who is with you in the good times and bad times. You know that a friend is always with you, for this reason you have more confidence. You can talk with him about your problems, love, wishes, etc. Also you know that he always keeps your secrets, and that he never tells them to someone else. On the other hand, you do not have the same confidence with your brother, because you are not sure that if your brother is angry he can say your secrets. Your brother can blackmail you; this is, ask you things or money with the condition of keeping your secret. It is more difficult to tell something important in your life or a secret to your brother than your friend. Your friend will never blackmail you.
The third difference is the age. Your friend sometimes is the same age that you. When you meet you friend on the majority of the cases is at the school, a club, etc., for this reason you share the same age. To have a friend of the same age is funny; also, a friend is someone who likes you and everything you do, this occurs when two people are of the same age. To have a beautiful relationship is more pleasant if the two people share the same age. On the contrary, you can have brothers younger than you or older than you. When there are problems between brothers in the majority of cases is for the age difference, because the older brother thinks that he has more authority and the younger brother thinks that he doesn’t have responsibilities. Difference in ages is an understanding problem too. A relationship is better when the people have the same age.
To sum up, there are some differences between a brother and a friend, but if you want, you can have the same beautiful relationship as your friends as your brothers. If you fell confidence, respect, love, tolerance, fun, etc. to a person, this person is your friend, it is not important if he is or is not your brother, your cousin, your father, your mother, your neighbor etc. A friend will be always by your side, your brother too. If you have good communication and relation with your brother, he can become on your best friend.

MOVIE REVIEW
“The live gives us opportunities to correct our mistakes”
The movie titled “1973” is a documentary directed by Antonino Isordia Llamazares, a talented Mexican director who born in 1973 and who have been recognized for his most famous films: “1973” and “los niños devoran lobos”. His documentaries have been nominated for Ariel awards also he won the Silver Goddess Mexican award and the JVC award of the International Film Festival.
“You go out at 6am not knowing if you going to come back” This documentary is a drama film, which describes the hard lives of three different Mexican people who were born in 1973. These three people are: Rodolfo, (a guy who when he was teenager decided to become a member of a dangerous gang called “porros”) Maria Fernanda (who had a terrible accident when she was drug addicted), and finally Alejandro (who in 1992 murdered his family and who nowadays continues in prison).
This documentary is interesting because it shows you the life from different perspectives in order to understand a little why these people acted of that way, also in helps you to think how each action that you do now can give you consequences in a future. Also this documentary can be a little difficult to understand so is very important to pay it a lot of attention, maybe it could be a little bit tedious to watch because it is in black and white, but if you focus your attention in the stories that each character describes surely you would like it more.

DEATH PENALTY
Death penalty or execution is the punishment of killing a person who committed a crime; it is by a judicial process. The crimes that carry a death a penalty could be: murder, espionage, rape, adultery, incest and sodomy, human trafficking, etc. It depends on the country, because there are countries that consider some of these crimes more serious than others. The methods used for death penalty nowadays are: electrocution which consists in electronic discharges in an electric chair, and lethal injection which consists in inject three times to the criminal in order to stop the life of his/her main organs. There are people who agree with this punishment, but there are people who disagree with this kind of punishment because they consider that there are other kinds of punishments that can benefit our society.
There are people whom agree with this punishment because they think that death penalty prevents future murders. People say that if criminals are sentenced to be executed they will think twice before killing a person, this can be for fear of losing their own life. It is false, because death penalty is not deterrent, the majority of people who commit murders do not think in their possible punishment when they attack, because they frequently commit a crime in moments of passion or anger, or they have mental problems and act impulsively. William Bowers (2009) criminologist concluded that: “death penalty has the opposite effect: that is, society is brutalized by the use of the death penalty, and this increases the likelihood of more murder.” It is true because death penalty causes anger and revenge.
Also people in favor of death penalty believe that just society requires it for the taking of a life. They act with revenge, because they think that when someone takes a life, the balance of justice is disturbed, this means that for justice to prevail, some killers just need to die. It is in my point of view a bad idea, because if we consider this kind of rule, our society will be a revenge chain or a murder chain, where a lot of people will die. Death penalty is not just response for the taking of a life; real justice is respect for a life. Our laws and criminal justice system should lead us to higher principles that demonstrate a respect the lives of all the people. Thinking about this, we will learn to live without revenge, because to end in another killing only extends the chain of violence. There are a lot of things that we should do in order to have a just society than want a person death. Allowing executions and thinking about other kinds of punishments can do a better society.
Opponents say that the risk of killing innocent people precludes the use of death penalty. They say that there is not risk of killing innocent people, because there are always a lot of proofs and evidence. They think death penalty does not have the risk of an erroneous and irrevocable punishment. Unfortunately had existed mistakes in this kind of punishment, there had had a lot of innocent people who had paid for other people. We know that nowadays thank to the justice system and the federal courts, the execution of an innocent person is almost impossible, but it does not discard one possibility, maybe one in a million but this mistake can occur. Even the theoretical execution of an innocent person can be justified because the death penalty saves lives by deterring other killings. Also, how can we solve the big mistake of killing a person who did not commit any crime? It can be a big remorse that death penalty can provoke us.
In conclusion, the execution of a criminal will never solve the crime that he/ she committed. Although the crime was very serious, nobody has the right of deciding when ending the life of a person, because everyone has the right to live. Nowadays death penalty is unpopular in many states because the majority of the population is against. Also if the criminal has to receive a punishment, the justice system can chose other punishments that help us and help the criminal too in order to avoid another crime. Also what will you do if a member of your family is condemned to death penalty? Would do you like that he or she is sentencing to receive this punishment? Do you think that other people have the right of decided him/ her death? My Favorite Dish
There is a big variety of delicious dishes around the world, but do you know that the favorite food of many people around the world is Mexican food? Mexican food is spicy and tasty; also, it includes a variety of flavors, colors, textures, etc. If you live or travel to Mexico, you can enjoy food like: tacos, enchiladas, mole, pozole, tamales, etc. I love Mexican food, but my favorite dish is pozole.
There are three kinds of pozole, these are white, green, but my favorite is red pozole. I like this kind of pozole, because my grandmother prepares it very delicious. It has an incredible flavor and a delicious smell. Also it is the special dish in my family when we celebrate an important date, this could be a birthday, Christmas, new year, etc, a particular day when they majority of Mexican people eat pozole is on our Independence day.
The correct ingredients are the secret of a savory pozole. The main ingredients of red pozole are maize, garlic, salt, cumin, red pepper, meat and backbone. The cambination of these ingredients is essential in order to obtain a delicious pozole. Pozole can be spicier depending of the kind of the red pepper that you use. Here in Mexico we called “chile guajillo” if you don’t want that pozole is spicy or “chile pulla” if you want it spicier.
Although pozole has a good flavor with all these ingredients, you can add extra-ingredients in order to obtain a better flavor. When you have your pozole in the plate, you can add lettuce, onion, radish, lemon and wild marjoram; moreover, these extra- ingredients give pozole an attractive presentation. But these extra-ingredients are optional, this means you can add them or not. Also you can accompany pozole with tostadas or potato tacos; if you want you can add spicy sauce too.
To sum up, I can eat Chinese food, American food, Italian food, but my favorite food will always be Mexican food. Mexican food has many delicious dishes, but I prefer pozole. You can eat pozole in all the seasons of the year, it is a dish easy to find on the majority of restaurants. Moreover, pozole is the perfect dish for celebrating whichever event.
